Advances in Pseudoperonospora cubensis and its resistance in cucumber

  • Scientific use of resistant varieties(lines) and resistant genes for controlling cucumber downy mildew is the most economical and effective method. The present study comprehensively reviewed the research advances of pathogen and disease-resistance in cucumber downy mildew, and summarized infection and epidemiology regulation. The author also an-alyzed different researches in inoculation and downy mildew resistance evaluation at home and abroad , mainstream ap-proaches and latest technologies in resistant gene mapping, and discovered current argument over single-gene and poly-gene in the genes that controlled resistance. Therefore, simplified and standardized resistance identification study should be reinforced, and resistant genes should be explicated clearly so that more and better disease-resistant variety (lines) and resources can be screened and created.
