Abstract
Procecidochares utilis Stone, an host specific natural enemy of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng, has be-come an important means of prevention and control for E. adenophorum Spreng in many countries that suffered hazards of E. adenophorum Spreng. This paper summarized the researches for P. utilis Stone, including its introduction, biological characteristics, ecological characteristics and control effects on E. adenophorum Spreng. There were some limitations existed in present researches for P. utilis Stone, for example, its poor control effects, the unclear detoxification mechanism. According to the existing problems, some relevant suggestions were put forward, such as strengthening systematic study on host selec-tion mechanism and population spreading rule of P. utilis Stone, developing research on detoxification protein and symbiotic, and investigating parasitic law and selection mechanism of native parasitic wasps which threat P. utilis Stone in the field.
