Sugarcane planting suitability evaluation based on block unit

  • ObjectiveSugarcane planting suitability evaluation in Jiangzhou district, Chongzuo city, Guangxi provided a scientific basis for adjustment of sugarcane industry distribution for relevant authorities. MethodTaking Jiangzhou dis-trict, Chongzuo city in Guangxi as an example and selecting 16 evaluation indexes in categories of soil factors, topography factors, meteorological factors and economic factors, analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and the weighted index model were used to evaluate planting suitability based on vector data of sugarcane crop plot in 2016. The sugarcane cultivation areas were divided into the most suitable area, suitable area, suboptimal area and inappropriate area using GIS technology. Re-sultThe sum of the most suitable area and suitable area was close to that of high-yield and high-sugar-content sugarcane base, which indicated that the results of the evaluation were in good agreement with the actual situation. The most suitable area for sugarcane planting in Laituan township, Jiangzhou district, Chongzuo city was 3799.80 ha, accounting for 36.90%of the total most suitable area; while the unsuitable area for sugarcane planting in Xinhe township, Jiangzhou district, Chongzuo city was 177.85 ha, accounting for 28.84%of total unsuitable area. ConclusionIn order to utilize the land re-sources scientifically, rationally and effectively, and increase sugarcane production, it is proposed to construct new high-yield and high-sugar-content sugarcane base and adjust the layout area innJiangzhou district, Chongzuo city, Guangxi to townships such as Laituan, Luobai, Taipingjiedao, Tuolu and Zuozhou.
