Analysis and evaluation on nutritional components of white tea from Fanjing mountain

  • ObjectiveThe nutritive composition and nutritional value of white tea from Fanjing mountain were ana-lyzed and evaluated, in order to provide reference for development and utilization of white tea from Fanjing mountain.MethodAccording to the related national standards, some of common nutritional components in white tea from Fanjing mountain, including amino acid content, free amino acid(FAA) content, mineral element content, heavy metal element content were determined to analyze its superiority, compared with relevant literature, and the nutritional value was esti-mated based on amino acid score. ResultWhite tea from Fanjing mountain was rich in essential nutrient. Moreover , the contents of vitamin C, protein, total amino acid, essential amino acids(EAA), FAA were 19.32±0.01 mg/100 g, 27.82± 0.07 g/100 g, 25.322 g/100 g, 10.446 g/100 g, 2.179 g/100 g, respectively. Furthermore, contents of heavy metal ele-ments met national food safety standards. Methionine and cysteine were the first limiting amino acids , threonine was the second limiting amino acids. ConclusionThe white tea from Fanjing mountain contains rich nutrients which are essential to human body, such as vitamins, proteins, amino acids, trace elements, etc.. Therefore, the white tea from Fanjing mountain should be developed and utilized as high-quality nutritional health tea.
