Measurement and strategy of inclusive green growth in rural areas of Xinjiang

  • 【Objective】 Based on the panel data in Xinjiang rural areas from 2004 to 2020, this study statistically analyzed the status quo of inclusive green growth in rural areas of Xinjiang, assessed its performance, and provided reference basis for exploring the realization path of inclusive green growth in the rural areas.【Method】 Using correlation analysis, discriminatory capacity analysis and rational screening analysis, an evaluation system for inclusive green growth in rural areas of Xinjiang was established, including 4 dimensions(rural economic growth, rural residents' livelihood and welfare, rural green production and rural environmental protection) and 18 indexes, and the entropy weight method was used to analyze and evaluate the performance of inclusive green growth and the development of each dimension in rural areas of Xinjiang from 2004 to 2020.【Result】 During the period of 2004-2020, the index of inclusive green growth performance in rural areas of Xinjiang showed a rapid upward trend, which was consistent with the trend of inclusive green growth in rural areas of China. Under the synergistic effect of the 4 dimensions(rural economic growth, rural residents' livelihood and welfare, rural green production and rural environmental protection), the development stages of Xinjiang's rural inclusive green growth from 2004 to 2020 could be summarized into 4 stages:initial stage, significant rising stage, growth slowdown stage and growth recovery stage. The development of thetwo dimensions ofrural economic growth and rural residents' livelihood and welfare contributed greatlyto the improvement of Xinjiang's rural inclusive green growth index. The fluctuating rise of rural environmental protection dimension also promoted the improvement of Xinjiang's rural inclusive green growth index to a certain extent. However, the declining trend of green production dimension limited the development of inclusive green growth performance in rural areas of Xinjiang to a certain extent.【Conclusion】 Xinjiang government at all levels should promote rural green development by constructing the diversified rural economic industrial development mode according to local conditions, improving the level of public services, and strengthening the guiding role of the government, in order to improve the level of inclusive green growth in rural areas of Xinjiang.
