  • Siraitia grosvenorii(Swingle)C. Jeffrey ex A M Lu & Zhi Y Zhang,as one of the genuine medicinal materials in Guangxi,has high medicinal and edible values. The dried fruit of S. grosvenorii has a remarkable effect on moistening the lungs and relieving cough. As one of the effective components of S. grosvenorii, mogroside is not only high in sweetness,but also low in calories,which makes it very popular. With the continuous expansion of planting areas,the diseases of S. grosvenorii have become one of important factors restricting its development. The reported diseases of S. grosvenorii include virus disease,root-knot disease,bacterial wilt,leaf blight,bud blight,fruit anthracnose, southern blight and root rot,among which virus disease and root-knot disease are the main diseases,which are common and harmful. This manuscript reviewed the research progress on the diseases of S. grosvenorii,including the symptoms,pathogen, occurrence rule and prevention method. At present,the researches of S. grosvenorii disease mainly focus on virus disease and root-knot disease, but the research depth is not enough, so the virus and root-knot diseases are still the serious diseases in production. It is suggested to establish a rapid,simple and specific method for the detection of S. grosvenorii virus diseases, and formulate and improve the detection procedure of the virus disease, improve the production technology system of virus-free seedlings of S. grosvenorii,so that the tissue culture seedlings would be free of viruses and the seedling substrate is free of nematodes; reduce the transmission of virus and nematodeby attaching importance to the collaborative research of field integrated control technology; strengthen publicity on the prevention and control of S. grosvenorii virus disease and root-knot disease,and guide farmers to plant scientifically and rationally;strengthen the collection,screening and utilization of S. grosvenorii germplasm resources for antiviral and nematode resistance. It is suggested to focus on the research on the interaction of host,pathogen and environment,establish a green prevention and control technology system, and select disease resistant varieties,so as to provide a reference for the comprehensive control of S. grosvenorii diseases and promote the high-quality development of S. grosvenorii industry.
