County-level small scale eco-economic functional zoning in damp-hot karst mountainous areas—A case study in Daxin, Guangxi

  • ObjectiveMethod of county-level small scale eco-economic functional zoning in damp-hot karst moun-tainous areas was explored in order to provide theoretical support and decision-making reference for the ecological economic construction of Daxin County, and provide referential method of eco-economic functional zoning for damp-hot karst moun-tainous areas. MethodOn the basis of field investigation for Daxin County, Guangxi, this paper analyzed the particularity issues on scale and background factors of county-level eco-economic functional zoning in damp-hot karst mountainous areas, and studied the particularity and specific requirements, so as to determine the thoughts and methods for eco-economic functional zoning. ResultIt was suggested to divide two grades in county-level eco-economic functional zoning, using administrative village-level boundaries. Zoning selection criteria needed to focus on investigating the background factors in damp-hot karst mountainous areas, followed the principle of historical consistency, used the method of dominant markers and divided from top to bottom. Accordingly, five eco-economic functional zones and ten eco-economic functional subzones were distinguished in Daxin County, Guangxi. At the same time, based on relief amplitude, capacity of the popu-lation in each zone was calculated, and development direction for each zone was put forward combining the characteristics of each zone. ConclusionThe established method of county-level small scale eco-economic functional zoning in damp-hot karst mountainous areas is targeted and operable. This it is of important guiding significance and application value in the corresponding regional eco-economic construction.
