Performance of agricultural machinery cooperatives based on matter-element evaluation model

  • ObjectiveAgricultural machinery cooperatives performance evaluation indicator system was established, influencing factors of performance levels were discussed in order to provide reference for development and research of agri-cultural machinery cooperatives. Method"Process logic" index system was established based on evaluation theory of pro-cess of thinking. Twelve agricultural machinery cooperatives in Sichuan Province were selected as research object. Ma-tter-element evaluation model was used to analyze the performance of agricultural machinery cooperatives from four dimen-sions(input, process, output and efficiency), and explore the factors affecting the level of performance. ResultThe re-sults indicated that, among 12 agricultural machinery cooperatives, there were one at excellent level, five at good level, four at general level and two at poor level, which showed an unbalanced pattern. It was inferred that the difference between the cooperatives were obvious. In different dimension indicators, process dimension and output dimension had low perfor-mance level, that of benefit dimension and input dimension were higher. Although the performance level of the agricultural machinery cooperatives was high from the efficiency dimension analysis, analysis based on other dimensions reflected some problems, such as flawed organizational management, low output, a high degree of financial dependence and policy dependence on the government and low farmers' participation. SuggestionFollowing suggestions are proposed: innovating the model of financial services to expand financing channels of agricultural machinery cooperatives and reduce the depen-dence degree on government's finance support; strengthening governmental supervision to improve and complete the mana-gement system and benefits distribution system; guiding the operation of appropriate scale management to improve agricul-tural production efficiency.
