Abstract
ObjectiveSpecies of thrips were identified and effective pesticides against thrips were selected in order to provide theoretical reference for control of thrips. MethodThe thrips species were investigated on twelve different tea vari-eties in the tea plantation of Yunnan Agricultural University by five-point sampling method , and the field control effect of three pesticides on thrips were evaluated. ResultA total of 706 thrips were collected, belonging to two families, four genera and six species, including three genera and five species of thripidac, which were Lefroyothrips lefroyi in Lefroyothrips, Thrips flavus, T. awaiiensis and T. palmi Karny in Thrips, one genera and one species of phlaeothripidae, which was Haplothrips chinensis in Haplothrips. The quantities of L. lefroyi(195 L. lefroyi) and T. flavus(183 T. flavus) were the largest, and accounted for 27.62% and 25.92% of total thrips. Trips on Changning big leaf was the most serious, 149 thrips were collected and accounted for 21.11%of the total. The three pesticides(25 g/L spinosad SC, 2.5%pyrazole· high chloride EC and 40% chorpyrifos EC) had some field control effects on thrips, the reduction rate and control effects were more than 80.00% 7 d after spraying. ConclusionThe dominant thrip species are L. lefroyi and T. flavus on tea plant, and Changning big leaf is favored tea variety by thrips. As a botanical pesticides, 25 g/L spinosad SC has persistent and stable control effects, which can be applied as preferred pesticide in thrips control.
