Abstract
ObjectiveFruit quality and trait indicators of Tamarindus indica L. germplasm resources were comprehen-sively evaluated to provide reference for development and utilization of T. indica L. MethodPrincipal component analysis were used to simplify 15 quality and trait indicators for 16 T. indica L. germplasm resources. Reasonable weights were given on each quality and trait indicator using rationalization-satisfaction method, then complex rationalization-satisfaction values were calculated and development values of each germplasm resource were analyzed. ResultCalcium, iron and copper contents were the highest in T. indica L. 8(calcium content was 2406.33 mg/kg). Its rationalization-satisfaction score was the highest(0.661), and the nutrient value was high. T. indica L. 9 ranked the second in terms of rationalization-satis-faction score(0.646). It contained high soluble solid content and total sugar and low total acid content. Weight of single fruit was above the moderate level. T. indica L. 3 had the largest weight of single fruit(19.69 g), its flavor was sour, edible rate was at moderate level, the rationalization-satisfaction score(0.634) ranked the third. Rationalization-satisfaction score (0.275) of T. indica L. 13 was the lowest, and its complex utilization value was the worst. ConclusionT. indica L. 8 contains the highest calcium content, and can be developed as juice or jam. T. indica L. 9 contains high total sugar content and good flavor, the comprehensive quality is superior, therefore, it can be developed as dried fruit. Other germplasm resources con-tain different traits. Orientation breeding can be applied on them to upgrade the resources.
