Abstract:
ObjectiveGrowth situation, economic characters, fruit characters and quality of cherry tomato grafted on different stocks were analyzed, which provided reference for selection of new stock varieties for tomato planting in autumn and winter in southern China . MethodPink cherry tomato cultivar was grafted onto Fanzhen No . 3 , Qiezhen No . 11 , Qiezhen No.21 and local Qiezhen, non-grafted seedling was taken as control(CK). The following parameters of grafted seedlings were recorded:plant height, leaf number, economic characters, fruit characters and fruit qualities. The compre-hensive effects of grafting seedlings on different stocks were evaluated by membership function. ResultEconomic indexes of seedlings grafted on Fanzhen No.3 and Qiezhen No.21 were significantly higher than those of control, including ear num-ber per plant, ripe fruit number per plant and fruit number per ear(P<0.05, the same below). Besides, their yields per plant was significantly higher than those of seedlings grafted on local Qiezhen and non-grafted seedling , and their synthetic performance of fruit sepals and fruit stalks were the best. Different stocks could improve fruit hardness , peel thickness and color parameter h to various extents, and enhance the storage property and appearance quality. Fruit soluble solids, vitamin C(Vc), lycopene content and other quality indicators of grafted seedlings were higher than those of non-grafted seedling.ConclusionFanzhen No.3 and Qiezhen No.21 can be used as preferred stock varieties in grafting of cherry tomato in au-tumn and winter in southern China.
