Abstract:
ObjectiveThe present study was conducted to select local superior tobacco varieties(lines) that were re-sistant to tobacco mosaic virus(TMV) in order to provide well-refined seed varieties for flue-cured tobacco resistant to TMV in central and northern part of Hunan. MethodMethod of artificial inoculation and inducement in greenhouse dis-ease nursery combined with identification in diseased field was adopted in the research. Taking Coker176 as disease resis-tance control, Gexin 3 as moderate disease resistance control, and G140 as disease susceptibility control, TMV resistance identification was conducted on 18 flue-cured tobacco varieties, such as 9625, Jinxing 6007, Xiaohuangjin 0019, 401-2, Xiaohuangjin 1025, NGLAUCA,Yanyan 2, etc. ResultIn the tested varieties (lines), two selected varieties (lines) resistant to TMV were T61 and 9625, accounted for 11.1% of total varieties; five varieties moderately resistant to TMV were Jinxing 6007, 03-4-3, Tailihuang 1061, VZSTA33 and Yunyan 98, occupying 27.8% of the total varieties; eleven susceptible varieties(lines) Xiaohuangjin 0019, 401-2,311,Xiaohuangjin 1025,NGLAUCA,Yanyan 2,Dabaijin 0522, Hujin 3,Dayeyongyan,Changbohuang, NC9, accounted for 61.1%of the total. ConclusionThe selected two varieties that are resistant to TMV, T61 and 9625, are important TMV-resistant germplasm resources in central and northern part of Hunan. In addition, demonstration planting of these two varieties can be promoted in the region.
