Abstract:
ObjectiveThe soil nutrients of newly-increased farmland in Weibei loess plateau gully region were studied , in order to provide a reference for determining whether new arable land would be used sustainably. MethodWith every 20 ha newly-increased farmland as a sampling unit, a total of 30 soil samples were collected from 0-30 cm topsoil in Baishui county, Pucheng county and Fuping county which located in Weibei loess plateau gully region. Then the organic matter, total N, available P, available K and soil texture of soil samples were determined to analyze soil nutrient status. ResultThe results showed that, the soil texture was silt loam, the contents of organic matter, total N, available P and available K in soil were 16.69 g/kg, 0.67 g/kg, 15.79 mg/kg and 173.28 mg/kg, respectively. Based on the contents of organic matter and available K, three counties were ordered, as follows: Baishui county>Fuping county>Pucheng county; Based on con-tents of total N, three counties were ordered, as follows: Pucheng county>Baishui county=Fuping county; Based on con-tents of total N and available P, three counties were ordered, as follows: Baishui county>Pucheng county>Fuping county. Furthermore, the correlation analysis showed that, the content of soil organic matter was significantly positively correlated with content of total N(P<0.05), and extremely significantly positively correlated with contents of available P and K(P<0.01,the same below). The content of available P was extremely significantly positively correlated with content of available K. Except total N, the contents of soil nutrients were positively correlated with sand content, and negatively correlated with contents of clay and silt. According to the grading standard of soil nutrients in loess plateau , the soil organic matter content of newly-increased farmland in Weibei loess plateau gully region was at a middle level , the content of total N was low, the contents of available P and K were high. ConclusionIn Weibei loess plateau gully region, there are regional differences in soil nutrients between different countries. And the soil organic matter content has a greater impact on soil nutrient content.
