Abstract:
Phospholipases could hydrolyze phospholipids, the main component of membrane bilayer, and played an important role in plant growth, development and stress response. Phospholipase regulated seed activity during seed growth, development, storage and germination, and affected the conservation of plant genetic resources and crop yield. This paper summarized the effects of phospholipase on seed vigor at different stages:phospholipase regulated starch synthesis, thus influencing seed vigor formation during seed growth and development;it regulated membrane integrity, thus influencing seed dehydration tolerance during mature stage;phospholipase might regulate cell oxidative damage during storage;during germination stage, phospholipase participated in ABA and GA signal transduction to regulate seed germination and seedling morphogenesis. However, due to the diverse and complex biological functions of phospholipase, the mechanism of seed vigor regulation remained unclear. Using gene editing and multiomics techniques to investigate biological function and regulation mechanism of phospholipase would not only help clarify the molecular mechanism of seed aging, but also provide valuable gene resources for germplasm innovation, which had important theoretical and practical significance.
