Abstract:
Objective In the present study, effects of high temperature on the mortality and activity behavior of Diaphorina citri Kuwayama was investigated to provide theoretical basis for prevention and control of D.citri.MethodThe mortality of D.citri was studied in simulated high temperature environment in a illumination incubator where temperatures were set at 40,42,44,45 and 46 ℃,respectively, and its activity behavior was investigated with the temperature increasing from 36 ℃ to 46 ℃.The mortality of D.citri was investigated under different light treatments when temperature was 45 ℃.The effects of 36 and 45 ℃ cycle temperature on mortality ofD.citri were studied as well.ResultUnder 40,42,44,45 and 46 ℃ high temperature treatments, death time of 50% D.citri(LT50) were 138.038,17.140,11.695,10.593 and 0.097 h,respectively, and death time of 95% D.citri(LT95) were 181.970,26.978,18.843,14.718 and 0.500 h,respectively. The activity behavior of D.citri increased with temperature increasing from 36 ℃ to 46 ℃.Under high temperature (45 ℃),LT50 and LT95 after dark processing were 6.353 and 8.913 h,respectively, which were both shorter than the values(10.593 and 14.718 h) in longer treatment.LT50 and LT95 for 36 and 45 ℃ cycle temperature were 13.740 and 18.967 h respectively, which were higher than the values(10.593 and 14.718 h) in constant treatment. Conclusion High temperature leads to the decreasing of survival time of D.citri population, which is the main reason why D.citri presents population depression in high temperature season.
